Computational and algorithmic models of strategies in turn-based games

چکیده
We study two different models of a turn-based game called the Marble Drop Game, which is an experimental paradigm designed to investigate higher-order social reasoning. Our first model is a computational-level description of the game, associating cognitive difficulty of a game trial with its structural properties. Our second model is an algorithmiclevel model postulating a forward reasoning plus backtracking strategy for solving the game, rather than backward induction as prescribed by game theory. Our experiment shows that the algorithmic-level model is more predictive for the participants’ reaction times. This research illustrates how various methods of logic and computer science may be used for building computational cognitive models.

Nash Equilibrium Strategy for Bi-matrix Games with L-R Fuzzy Payoffs
In this paper, bi-matrix games are investigated based on L-R fuzzy variables. Also, based on the fuzzy max order several models in non-symmetrical L-R fuzzy environment is constructed and the existence condition of Nash equilibrium strategies of the fuzzy bi-matrix games is proposed. At last, based on the Nash equilibrium of crisp parametric bi-matrix games, we obtain the Pareto and weak Pareto...
متن کاملAn interval-valued programming approach to matrix games with payoffs of triangular intuitionistic fuzzy numbers
The purpose of this paper is to develop a methodology for solving a new type of matrix games in which payoffs are expressed with triangular intuitionistic fuzzy numbers (TIFNs). In this methodology, the concept of solutions for matrix games with payoffs of TIFNs is introduced. A pair of auxiliary intuitionistic fuzzy programming models for players are established to determine optimal strategies...
متن کاملExperimental Evaluation of Algorithmic Effort Estimation Models using Projects Clustering
One of the most important aspects of software project management is the estimation of cost and time required for running information system. Therefore, software managers try to carry estimation based on behavior, properties, and project restrictions. Software cost estimation refers to the process of development requirement prediction of software system. Various kinds of effort estimation patter...
متن کاملA BI-OBJECTIVE PROGRAMMING APPROACH TO SOLVE MATRIX GAMES WITH PAYOFFS OF ATANASSOV’S TRIANGULAR INTUITIONISTIC FUZZY NUMBERS
The intuitionistic fuzzy set has been applied to game theory very rarely since it was introduced by Atanassov in 1983. The aim of this paper is to develop an effective methodology for solving matrix games with payoffs of Atanassov’s triangular intuitionistic fuzzy numbers (TIFNs). In this methodology, the concepts and ranking order relations of Atanassov’s TIFNs are defined. A pair of bi-object...
متن کاملUsing intrinsic complexity of turn-taking games to predict participants' reaction times
We study structural properties of a turn-based game called the Marble Drop Game, which is an experimental paradigm designed to investigate higher-order social reasoning. We show that the cognitive complexity of game trials, measured with respect to reaction time, can be predicted by looking at the structural properties of the game instances. In order to do this, we define complexity measures of...
